Our teachers

Every Baby Swimmers teacher is committed to ensuring your little one learns to be happy, confident and safe in the water.
As well as being fully-qualified swim teachers, all Baby Swimmers teachers also go through our incredibly thorough in-house training, which can take 3 - 6 months; as well as completing a CPD every year.
And with more than 80 years’ experience between us in teaching little ones to swim, you’re in good hands!

I’m proud to say I’m the founder of Baby Swimmers! I first started teaching children to swim way back in 1989, when I was living in America. Then 15 years ago, I took my little ones to baby swimming classes and loved them so much I decided to set up my own for others to enjoy! I’m an ASA Swimming Teacher & STA Baby and Pre-School Swimming Teacher and hold a lifesaving qualification with the STA. You’ll find me at Milestone School in Leeds on Mondays, and at Springwater School in Harrogate on Tuesdays.

I feel very lucky that I’ve been teaching children to swim for 30 years, and I absolutely love what I do. For me, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a little one take their first swimming strokes on their own. You’ll find me in Pocklington on Saturdays and after school on Wednesdays, Stamford Bridge after school on Thursdays & Saturdays, and New Earswick on Thursdays.

My journey with Baby Swimmers began when I used to bring my daughter to classes, and I’ve been teaching children to swim for 2 ½ years. I’m also a fully-trained aqua fit and aquanatal teacher. You’ll find me at Penny Fields School in Leeds after school on Fridays, and at The Forum in Leeds on Saturdays.

I've had the pleasure of being a Baby Swimmers teacher for 6 years now - and I still enjoy every single class I teach! Having swum all my life, I feel at home in the water and want to share this water confidence with parents and their children. To watch a nervous toddler as they learn to enjoy the water and swim independently, putting their face in the water and jumping in because they want to have fun, is so rewarding. And as an ex-midwife, I’m also confident in handling new babies and helping to nurture the bond between parents and their newborns as they move in the water. I teach at the Kilima Hotel in York on Mondays, New Earswick pool in York on Tuesdays and Roko in York on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Having represented Leeds in swimming competitions, I’ve been teaching children to swim for the past 5 ½ years and am also trained in aqua fit and aquanatal. I teach at the Hilton in Leeds on Wednesdays and Fridays, Milestone School in Pudsey on Tuesdays and The Forum in Leeds on Sundays.

I began teaching when I came to Leeds for university and soon after started my journey with baby swimmers. I always loved my swimming lessons when I was younger and I’m glad to help create the same fun environment for our young swimmers to learn new skills. You can find me at the Hilton Hotel 10:00am -12:00pm on Fridays.

I’m in my first year doing illustration at Leeds Arts University. I’ve been swimming since a baby myself and love being able to share my passion for swimming with the little ones. You’ll find me teaching at the Forum on Sundays.

I started working with Baby Swimmers 2 years ago and I currently also study drama at York St. John university. I love having fun with the children and seeing them progress into confident happy swimmers. You can find me at the Hilton Hotel, the Forum leisure centre, Milestones School and the Highfield Hotel.

I have 5 years experience teaching swimming ranging from baby and preschool to older kids, and as well as teaching I’m currently working to become a qualified STA tutor. I only started my journey with baby swimmers in June and am thoroughly enjoying teaching pre school children, meeting new parents and watching them progress to be confident little swimmers. You will find me teaching at the holiday inn on a Monday and the Hilton on a Friday. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Hi, I'm Charlotte and I'm very excited to be joining the Baby Swimmers team in York. I am mum to Ayham, 3 who was also a baby swimmer from 6 months old! We both enjoyed the classes so much I jumped at the opportunity to retrain as a baby and toddler swimming instructor and join Baby Swimmers. I have a teaching background, I taught in Primary Schools in the UK and overseas for 10 years before having my little boy in 2020. I look forward to meeting all the new baby and toddlers in the pool this year!
